What it adds
The Developer editions are complete boilerplates, but they are deliberately unmetered — there is no billing in them at all. Business is the same architecture with the money layer wired in.
Prepaid credit ledger
A real double-entry ledger, not a counter on a user row. Every debit and credit is recorded, balances are derived, and the audit trail is intact — which is what you need the first time a customer disputes a charge.
Payment rails
Checkout, top-ups, and subscription handling, so customers can put money in and spend it against usage.
Metered usage
Chat and media generation are priced per model and debited against the user's balance. The price table is one module — you set your own margins.
Multi-tenancy
Multiple isolated accounts on one deployment, which is what turns a single-user app into a product you can sell.
